Haunted Archer Avenue:
Resurrection Mary & Beyond

Saturday, January 14, 2012, 2pm -5pm
Hosted by Nichole Shanahan!

Few roads in the world rival the super-haunted reputation of Chicago's Archer Avenue, home to some of the city's most legendary ghost stories, including the most famous Vanishing Hitchhiker on earth, Resurrection Mary. This road was constructed by poor Irish immigrants --builders of the controversial and ill-funded Illinois & Michigan Canal-- who laid down the road over an ancient Indian trail known for its spiritual powers. The slavelike conditions of their labor, their deaths from hunger, thirst, disease and violence: all live on in the deep folklore of this storied region.

This tour is open to all ages, but you may also BYOB on this very special tour.  Please no hard coolers.

$30 per person.  Two pickups: Clark and Ohio, Chicago, 1pm.  Chet's Melody Lounge, Summit, Illinois, 2pm.  Hosted by Nichole Shanahan.

My Bloody Valentine:
The Guns & Roses Valentine  Tour
February 14, 2012

Valentine's Day means so much more to Chicagoans than flowers and chocolates. Show your loved one you truly understand the meaning of passion when you take her on an excusion through the extremes of Chicago emotion--from the city's most enduring romances to her deadliest legacies.

This tour, pushing off on the most romantic night of the year, will visit the sites of Chicago's tragic entanglements, including the death site of Chicago's favorite date--Resurrection Mary--and the site of the most ill-fated union in the city's history: the birth site of the famed Devil Baby of Hull House.

We'll also visit the beautiful Cote d'Or lounge at the Drake Hotel, where the Woman in Red threw herself from the roof on opening night after finding her lover with another woman, New Year's Eve, 1920.  Here, we will enjoy a special cocktail created just for us, honoring her desperate demise.  And bring some champagne (or beverage of your choice) along on the tour, to toast to the legacy of Al Capone and Bugs Moran at the site of the St. Valentine's Day Massacre.

$38 per person includes full tour and specialty cocktail at the Cote D'Or. BYOB okay on bus.  Please no hard coolers.
